Well another year is nearly complete. This week marks the last classes being held at Holy Spirit School, Bray Park for 2014. Unfortunately we are not able to continue during the school holidays at this venue, however I will be returning in 2015 with an introductory session on Saturday 31st January at the school hall. But there will be more on that in another email early next year.
This year has marked a very important journey for me in many different ways. I decided that 2014 was the year I would dedicate to some personal growth and kick off working on developing Mindful Living as a full time matter.
On reflection of the last 12 months I have noted it has been challenging and also very rewarding. I suspect this is just the first step along my path to fulfilling my soul’s purpose and I am open to whatever opportunity presents. I have so much gratitude for all that has occurred to date and feel extremely privileged that each of you have touched my life in some way. There is old Japanese saying that “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”. For me you are my teacher and I the student. I learn something new each class or private session I facilitate. Thank you.
I trust that each of you will take some time over the next few weeks to reflect on what you are grateful for from the last year and set your intention for moving into the next one. Meditating on and setting out my intentions for Mindful Living Matters and for my personal life has been ongoing since September. I certainly have some exciting things planned moving forward for 2015 and I hope you will all join me on the journey.
Before we Finish
There is two more events before we finish for the year.
Yin Yoga Workshop – I am still taking registrations for the Yin Yoga workshop being held at Embrace Life, North Lakes on the 6th December from 8.30am – 10.30am. This is a great introduction to this wonderful style of yoga I am interested in developing further for 2015. I plan on taking you through a 30 minute theoretical introduction to Yin Yoga followed by 90 minute practical session of workshopping the poses in both Yin style flow and then coming into stillness holding each pose for a period of time. This will be a relaxing experience for anyone who has wondered what I am talking about when I use the term Yin (and Yang) in reference to Yoga.
Meditation Circle – On Sunday 7th December from 4pm I am hosting my first meditation circle at my home studio. We will be using japa meditation technique with mala beads, along with pranayama and yoga nidra to create a beautiful vibration within the room but more importantly within our own bodies. I promise you will feel sensational after. There is still a couple of places left for those interested in mediation.
Summer Break
One decision I have made for this remainder of this year is to close group classes over the Christmas and New Year period. Below I have outlined the last class dates for each location and recommencement dates. The decision was thought out and ultimately decided upon to allow time to consolidate a few events from this year and allow a fresh start in many areas.

Changes for 2015
I will also be refining a few of my terms and conditions for my group classes and preparing for additional group sessions, as well as more workshops but predominantly moving my focus to private sessions. Some of you are aware I will be completing my Diploma of Shiatsu in January. Completing this sees me one step closer to achieving my objective to provide individuals with a holistic approach to health, happiness and harmony of mind, body and spirit. Next year will be actioning that objective.
My passion for working with women and children will take a new twist in 2015 as I set my sights on working with specific groups. I still plan on working with my concept of Yoga Women Connect with running some weekend workshops and of course I will be part of the Embody Your Spirit Retreats (Sacred Women Retreats) next year.
I am still considering running regular meditation circle but this is dependent on interest throughout the new year.
Booking Private Sessions
I understand that the time period between our last classes for 2014 and recommencing in 2015 seems lengthy. However time will go very quickly once the silly season kicks in.
Of course I know each of you will continue your personal practice in some way shape or form. The best piece of advice that was offered to me once and I would like to pass it on. JUST SHOW UP!
Place you mat in a prominent position and each day – just show up. Sit on your mat. On those days when you find it difficult to just be with yourself and go through the routine of yoga asana or meditation all you need to do is take 5 – 10 minutes to show up. No guilt, no fears, no worries. Sit on the mat and breathe. This is yoga. Be present in that moment of stepping on the mat – your yoga for the day will be complete. If you happen to break out into downward facing dog or butterfly then fantastic but that was not the mission – that is just a bonus.
Naturally having a regular injection of yoga where you do not have to think, you are just guided through a yoga practice is nice too. So just to let you know I am not going anywhere over the break and would love to take some yoga sessions. I will be available for private or group sessions if you would like to book some time.
My little home studio fits up to 4 people and I am happy to also come to you. Private rates are $60 per hour and I will do private one-on-one sessions or happy to do a sessions for 4 (or more people – in a location you nominate) if you wish to organise a yoga party for you and some friends.
I may even find a nice outdoor area and hold another KARMA KLASS during the break if the calling is there.
Psychosomatic Treatments
Some of you have heard me talk about the concept of psychosomatic therapy and I will have time for private treatment sessions over the break if you would like to schedule a time. Sessions are $60 per hour and I recommend booking 1.5 hrs for the first session.
Reiki Treatments
All my therapy sessions include reiki however if you would specifically like a reiki only treatment I am happy to book times for this too.
Shiatsu Treatments
I will be finished my Diploma in January and be eligible to receive my academic transcript and therefore apply for a provider number with private health care organisations so I will be adding this to my tool belt early next year. In the meantime book in for a psychosomatic treatment and I will happily discuss how the two modalities work well together in providing a holistic approach to your health.
Please if you have questions or just would like a chat over the festive season feel free to contact me.
Until we see each other again beautiful souls I trust that you will move with happiness, health and harmony in your hearts.
Om Shanti
